Revolution Park suspends weekly racing

facebook.com/TheREV2025

Citing low car counts a single profitable event in 2025, Revolution Park owners David and Misti Smith this evening announced plans to suspend the Monroe, La., track's original schedule after Friday and Saturday’s Clash at the Bayou.

David Smith, who with his wife bought the 3/8-mile oval on Dec. 31, 2024 and covered the track’s concrete surface with dirt, said they plan four more events the remainder of the season but won’t announce those until within a week of the race.

Smith said “we have tried everything we can to get cars” for events at the track that had been closed since 2022. The lone money-making event came with May 16’s Comp Cams Super Dirt Series race that drew 25 entrants, he said.

"This decision did not come easy,” Misti Smith posted on Facebook, thanking everyone for supporting the track. “At this time it is what's best for us."

The track’s weekly Crate Racin’ USA division for 604 Crate Late Models averaged 7.8 cars over eight events with a high of 13 entrants on the Fourth of July. April 26’s Gulf South Crate Racing Association event drew 15 cars.

The Rev's July 11-12 weekend includes another Gulf South Crate event and a $3,000-to-win event for compacts. The track’s original schedule includes Sept. 12-13 Comp Cams Super Dirt Series action and another Gulf South Crate event on Oct. 4.
