Georgetown's Camp Barnes race postponed
Forecasts for Thursday thunderstorms forced the postponement of the Camp Barnes Benefit Stock Car Race at Georgetown (Del.) Speedway, the track announced this evening. The event, which includes a $5,500-to-win Super Late Model, was rescheduled for Aug. 26:
Among other schedule changes in Late Model specials and touring events:
• Citing “unforeseen circumstances,” the Jail Breaker Topless Outlaw Series announced the cancellation of Aug. 9’s $4,400-to-win Dave Bilbrey Memorial at Crossville (Tenn.) Speedway.
• The Karl Chevrolet Pro Late Model Tour has added a double-feature program Aug. 10 at Dubuque (Iowa) Speedway paying $2,000-to-win for each feature.
• 191 Speedway in Campton, Ky., has raised the purses for its Aug. 29-30 weekend on the Ultimate Heart of America Super Late Model Series. Features will pay $6,500- (Wincy Mayabb Memorial) and $7,000-to-win (Swift Silver 40).
