Delaware Crate driver suspended by RUSH
The RUSH Crate Late Model organization has suspended Ben Scott of Delmar, Del., for one year and handed him a $1,000 fine because he declined an engine inspection following Sept. 12’s event at Georgetown (Del.) Speedway.
Scott, who is fourth in Georgetown’s Crate Late Model standings with four top-five finishes in seven starts, was also disqualified from Friday’s apparent fifth-place finish. Scott, last season’s champion for RUSH-sanctioned Crate Late Models at Potomac Speedway in Budds Creek, Md., must pay the fine before rejoining competition as the conclusion of the suspension.
The track announced that the impounded engines of Friday’s winner Nick Davis and third-place finisher Matt Hill passed Sunday’s engine inspections after teardowns by RUSH inspector Travis Harry.
RUSH co-director Vicki Emig said organization technical rules allow tracks to confiscate engines for inspection.
DirtonDirt has asked Scott for a statement regarding his penalties.
