Madden slides into Infinity house car

Tyler Carr

Returning to full-time racing, Chris Madden will pilot the Hazard, Ky.-based Infinity Chassis house car for Wells Motorsports in 2026, running an independent Dirt Late Model schedule, the 50-year-old Gray Court, S.C., driver announced today.

The nine-time regional touring champion, who in 2024 announced plans to sell his race team and compete on a part-time basis, will drive a No. 44 Infinity powered by a Clements Racing Engine with longtime sponsors Henderson Amusement and Millwood Plumbing among supporters.

“I can’t thank David and Eric Wells enough for putting this deal together,” Madden said in a press release. “They’ve always had a first-class operation with Brandon Overton and even dating back to when Eric drove himself. I’m extremely honored for them to restart their program and put me behind the wheel of their race car. Infinity Chassis drivers have done very well all over the country since Wells Motorsports started building those cars and I’m excited to join the team!”

Kent Fegter, who has previously worked with Wells Motorsports and Chris Madden Racing, will be among team members along with Wyatt Hardison with Hardison Suspension Technology.

Madden spent part of 2024 crew-chiefing for Ricky Thornton Jr.’s Lucas Oil title-winning running, then picked up a part-time ride with Team 22 Inc., winning 2024’s World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series finale at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, N.C. He added a Schaeffer's Spring Nationals victory for Team 22 at Swainsboro (Ga.) Raceway in February 2025 before moving to the Kale Green Motorsports team.

He won back-to-back Schaeffer's Southern Nationals victories for Green at Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Va., and Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tenn., and added four more runner-up finishes for the team among about 20 starts, including second-place Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series finishes at the Topless 100 at Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Ark., and the Dirt Track World Championship at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio.

Madden plans to open next season Jan. 22-24 on the World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla. More details will be announced later.
