Cook sets Schaeffer Oil tour schedules
The Schaeffer Oil-sponsored Spring and Southern National tour schedules for 2026 were revealed today by promoter Ray Cook at the Performance Racing Industry Trade Show in Indianapolis, Ind., with 15 races over six weekends on the spring circuit and 11 races over 14 days for July’s miniseries. | Southern Nationals | Spring Nationals
Cook has added new driver loyalty programs paying out more than $50,000 between the series. On each circuit, the top three drivers in points with perfect attendance will receive $500 per race. More details on the loyalty programs, including pit pass and entry fee perks, will be announced.
Among tracks appearing on both circuits are Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Va., Sugar Creek Raceway in Blue Ridge, Ga., Swainsboro (Ga.) Raceway, Senoia (Ga.) Raceway, North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, Ga., Tazewell (Tenn.) Speedway and the reopening Little River Speedway in Modoc, S.C., which appears for the first time on the Spring Nationals and for the first time since 2015 on the Southern Nationals.
The 22nd version of the Southern Nationals tour stretches from July 12-25 at tracks in Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia and the Carolinas with its traditional opener at Wythe and perennial finale at Tazewell. Harris Speedway in Rutherfordton, N.C., is on the series for the first time as the lone North Carolina stop. Five of the 11 events carry five-figure paydays for race winners with $310,000 in purse money up for grabs.
The five-state Spring Nationals open Feb. 27-28 with a Swainsboro-Senoia twinbill and conclude Memorial Day weekend with May 22-24 events at Sugar Creek, North Georgia and Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, Tenn. Besides Little River, another first-time series track is Hidden Hollow in Colson, Ky., which opens a three-race Bluegrass State weekend May 7-9 that continues at Junction City’s Ponderosa Speedway and Burnside’s Lake Cumberland Speedway. Other highlights including a March 27-28 weekend at Thunderhill Raceway with the Summertown, Tenn., paying $15,053-to-win for the finale in its first series appearance since 2019. The tour’s richest race is April 4’s $21,000-to-win Lil’ Bill Corum Memorial on Tazewell’s high banks with a total of $485,000 in purse money up for grabs throughout the series.
