Morrow making WoO rookie bid

Todd Morrow of Penton, Ala., has thrown his helmet in the ring as a rookie competitor on the World of Outlaws Late Model Series in 2026, the national tour announced today.

Making his first national touring attempt, Morrow, 40, will pilot the No. T1 for Britton Motorsports, the team he joined in September. His best run with the team came with a fourth-place finish in Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series action at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Ga.

“Just run all the races and be competitive,” Morrow said of his 2026 goals. “Sure, a win would be nice, but with me being out of the game, just building a notebook, getting competitive, and working on it for next year.”

Morrow, who grew up racing at Cleveland (Tenn.) Speedway, a track promoted by his father Monty Morrow, moved from East Ridge, Tenn., to Alabama years ago and scaled his racing back but never got out of racing altogether.

“We’ve got a lot of learning, but they wanted to do it,” said the former Cleveland Speedway champion, who failed to make a feature lineup during WoO’s season-opening weekend Jan. 22-24 at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla. “I always wanted to do this one time, so we’re going to see if we can make it happen.”

Morrow’s resume includes five Southern All Star victories and three on the Tennessee Thunder DirtCar Series. He was the SAS points runner-up in 2014 while winning three races. His most recent SAS victory came in 2020 and he owns four weekly victories at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Ala., since 2021.

Morrow is the fifth WoO newcomer chasing this year’s MD3 Rookie of the Year Award joining Trey Mills, Logan Zarin, Eli Johnson and Daulton Wilson. — Spence Smithback
