Wintry weather scraps South Georgia events
Bracing for wintry forecasts in the coming week, officials from the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series, Needmore Speedway and Swainsboro Raceway have cancelled the remaining three South Georgia Showdown events.
The announcement came shortly after Brandon Overton’s $10,000 victory Friday at Needmore Speedway in Norman Park, cancelling the originally planned four-race event scheduled Saturday at Needmore and Swainsboro’s doubleheader Monday and Tuesday. Swainsboro’s practice night Sunday has also been cancelled.
Presale tickets purchased through MyRacePass will automatically be refunded. The next series stop is March 22 at Eastaboga, Ala.’s Talladega Short Track for the $12,000-to-win Bama Bash, which kicks off the points-awarding portion of the 2026 schedule.
