New owners for Windy Hollow
Partners who have promoted Windy Hollow Speedway near Owensboro, Ky., have taken ownership of the 3/8-mile D-shaped layout that’s set to host one of the most ambitious schedules in track history.
Trevor Hutchins and Misty Westerfield, who leased the track in 2024-25, on Saturday announced the purchase from Evelyn “Rooster” Miller, whose family has owned the property for 110 years and operated it much of its 55 seasons. The purchase of Windy Hollow Raceway Park includes the facility’s drag strip and karting track.
“I am excited for the future of Windy Hollow Raceway,” Miller said. “The track has a bright future with Trevor and Misty. I feel now is the perfect time and perfect new owners for the facility.”
Hutchins called the purchase “a childhood aspiration of mine, since I was 7 years old. It’s an extraordinary feeling to achieve this. Windy Hollow has been my lifelong passion. I have ambitious goals and a clear vision for all three tracks.”
Westerfield added that “the journey to this point has been long and filled with countless challenges, but it has also been incredibly rewarding. We would not have reached the milestone without many remarkable individuals including my family, race family and employees. The accomplishment is truly a team effort.”
The track’s 2026 schedule includes a regular Crate Late Model division along with its first DIRTcar Summer Nationals event (June 28) since 1995. Other Late Model specials include a May 16 race for the first-year Slingin’ Dirt Model Series and a Sept. 20 event for the Ultimate Heart of America Super Late Model Series.
