Screven's Thursday opener rained out
With cold, wet weather still plaguing the greater Southeastern part of the country, officials at Screven Motor Speedway and the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series cancelled Thursday’s $5,000-to-win Winter Freeze XVI opener at the Sylvania, Ga., 3/8-mile oval.
Super Late Models will now compete on Friday ($10,000-to-win) and Saturday night ($25,000-to-win), while Thursday’s undercard prelims have been pushed to Friday afternoon.
Times have been moved ahead for Friday’s racing action with gates opening at 8 a.m. and on-track activity at 11; Super Late Models are not expected to hit the track until 5:30 p.m. hot laps, though several open practice sessions are slated throughout the day after Wednesday’s practice night was also washed out by rain.
The remainder of Screven’s Winter Freeze XVI can be live-streamed on FloRacing.
