Attica adds bonus for repeat winners
Attica (Ohio) Raceway Park drivers winning back-to-back weekly Super Late Model races from a handicapped starting position will receive a $750 bonus, the John Bores-promoted track announced day.
"We are always looking for ways to add excitement to our racing program,” Bores said in releasing the twist on the track’s former tradition of starting the previous week’s winner last in the starting grid.
In the 2026 season’s non-touring events at the third-mile oval, if the winner of the previous weekly event transfers to a redraw position through heat races, that driver will start sixth (if two heats) or eighth (if three heats). Winning from that position will put $750 in the driver’s pocket along with the weekly winner’s purse of $2,000.
Similar bonuses will also go the track’s 410 sprint car ($1,000) and 305 sprint car ($500) divisions. The track also announced the three divisions will chase a $50,000 total points fund distributed to the top 10 in points.
Attica opens the season March 13 with a three-division program including DIRTcar-sanctioned Late Models. Visit atticaracewaypark.com or details.
