Mercer set for biggest Late Model race
Michaels Mercer (Pa.) Raceway Park will host its biggest Super Late Model event in track history with the addition of July 1’s Liberty Classic on the Jay's Automotive United Late Model Series. The race will pay $6,000-to-win and $500-to-start and open Independence Speedweek on the Trevor Zuver-owned circuit.
Holiday action with ULMS continues July 3-4 at The Dirt Track at Genesee in Batavia, N.Y., with the $10,004-to-win U.S.M.C. Jason Dunham Memorial and concludes July 5 at Eriez Speedway in Hammett, Pa., for the $4,100-to-win Mike Farr Memorial.
The Mercer oval opens the season March 28 with the unsanctioned Chiller Thriller, which includes a $3,000-to-win Super Late Model program. M&T Appliances of Bridgeville, Pa., has put up a $500 bonus if one driver can win the Chiller Thriller and July 1’s Liberty Classic at Mercer.
