WoO Speedweeks hit three Florida tracks

joshjamesartwork.com

Three tracks over four weeks will host World of Outlaws Late Model Series events during Georgia-Florida Speedweeks in 2027, including Southern Raceway in Milton, Fla., for its first-ever WoO events, the national tour announced this morning.

The 10 scheduled Florida events would be the most in series history — the tour had Sunshine State races in 2013 and ’22 — while the national circuit's mid-winter schedule includes three tracks for the first time since 2015.

“We’ve listened to feedback from both fans and racers to lay out a Florida schedule that blends our annual traditions with some new favorites,” series director Steve Francis said in a news release. “We wanted to give everyone plenty of time to make plans to join us in Florida for an incredible month of racing.”

WoO's World Racing Group-owned Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla., hosts Jan. 28-30's Sunshine Nationals and Feb. 15-20's DIRTcar Nationals to bookend four weekends of action. The Sunshine Nationals have two $12,000-to-win events and a $20,000-to-win finale. The DIRTcar Nationals, with non-touring DIRTcar action the first three nights, also have a pair of $12,000-to-win WoO events with a $20,000-to-win WoO finale.

Hendry County Motorsports Park in Clewiston, Fla., returns to the WoO schedule for the second consecutive season with the Feb. 5-6 Swamp Cabbage 100 with $12,000- and $20,000-to-win programs. This season's inaugural WoO events at Hendry County were held the weekend following the DIRTcar Nationals.

The Hunt the Front-operated Southern Raceway's Gulf Coast Winter Nationals launch with a non-points Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series event paying $8,000-to-win on Feb. 11. WoO events pay $12,000-to-win on Feb. 12 and $20,000-to-win on Feb. 13.

In 2015, the World of Outlaws had Speedweeks events at Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, Ga., Ocala (Fla.) Speedway and Volusia and in most seasons since has run solely at Volusia.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series previously announced its Speedweeks dates, all starting after WoO competition. Feb. 25-27 dates are set for All-Tech Raceway in Ellisville, Fla.; March 2-6 events run Ocala; and March 10-13 races are scheduled for Golden Isles Speedway near Brunswick, Ga.
