Riggs Fiber-sponsored tour planned
Race announcer and series official Dewayne Keith of Senoia, Ga., plans next season to launch a new Southeastern-based Super Late Model tour among dirt tracks in Kentucky, Georgia, Florida, Alabama and Mississippi with events paying $3,000- to $7,000-to-win.
The Riggs Fiber Southern Showcase Super Series is intended to "completely cut down on travel for regional drivers" for good purses and bring back "true regional racing" for the division, Keith said on his personal Facebook page.
Keith, who plans to continue as race director for the Ultimate-sanctioned Southeast and Heart of America tours in 2027, says conflicts are "unlikely" among the tours. Potential tracks for the new series: Paducah (Ky.) International Raceway; Blackwater Speedway in Baker, Fla.; Sugar Creek Raceway in Blue Ridge, Ga.; Cochran (Ga.) Motor Speedway; Tuscumbia's North Alabama Speedway; Winfield's West Alabama Speedway; and Pine Ridge Speedway in Guntown, Miss., among others.
Along with title sponsor Riggs Fiber, other sponsors are Showtime Properties, Moseley Trucking, JJ Construction and VP Racing Fuels. More details will be announced.
