What won the race: Bryan Mullis of Rock Hill, S.C., was without peer as he cruised to a flag-to-flag victory in Sunday’s 25-lap Southeastern Late Model Sportsman Series season finale at Cherokee Speedway. The race's polesitter beat 2020 tour champion Kenny Collins to the checkered flag by 0.909 of a second for the $2,000 top prize.

Quotable: “We qualified on the pole last year (for this race) and couldn’t seal the deal," Mullis said, "but we were able to get it done this year."

Key notes: Mullis recorded his second career triumph on the Southeastern Late Model Sportsman Series. His previous win came on Oct. 7, 2017, also at Cherokee. ... Mullis has six wins on the year; the Cherokee triumph was the first on his four-race old Longhorn car. ... Collins started on the outside pole and ran in second for the entire distance to clinch his second consecutive Southeastern Series title. ... Eighth-starter Taylor Puckett picked up two spots on a lap-15 restart to reach third and finished in the spot. ...
