What won the race: Taylor Scheffler of Waukesha, Wis., overtook Dennis Erb Jr. with four laps remaining Sunday at Wilmot Raceway for a $4,300 DiscountShopTowels.com Dirt Kings Tour victory in the Diamond 43. Erb, who led laps 1-39, finished 1.702 seconds behind at the checkers.
Key notes: The winning pass was an outside move in turn two and down the backstretch. ... Scheffler notched his third career Dirt Kings victory; his previous victory came last October at Wilmot. ... Three cautions slowed the action, two on the seventh lap and another with seven laps remaining. ... Seventh-place finisher Troy Springborn, who started on the pole, earned a $500 bonus from an anonymous donor. ... Thirteen of 23 starters completed 43 laps. ...
