David Scott (4s) keeps Max Blair in check at Bradford Speedway.
What won the race: Leading all 30 laps at the paper-clip Bradford Speedway, pole-starting David Scott of Garland, Pa., fought off fellow front-row starter Max Blair on a restart with two laps remaining for a $3,000 Zimmer's United Late Model Series victory. Blair nosed ahead briefly on the backstretch on lap 29 before Scott’s low groove paid off.
Quotable: “I was just trying to hit my marks. I mean, I’m too old to be doing this. I’m so tired,” the winner said. “I’m not going to lie, Max (Blair) surprised me on the outside on that last restart. The (young) Dave Scott would’ve spun his tires and lost that race, but old man Dave Scott was careful with the throttle and I got locked in and lurched up out of there and got him back."
Key notes: Scott, the 2007 ULMS champ, notched his 13th career series victory and first since Aug. 11, 2019, also at Bradford. ... Max Blair was hot on Scott's heels most of the race but couldn't find a way past. ... Bryce Davis used the high groove to briefly move up to second after an early restart. ... A lap-13 pileup in turn two included a half-dozen drivers when Davis briefly got sideways. ... Mike Wonderling Jr. ran as high as third but was part of a caution with two laps remaining after slipping back. ... Ryan Scott drew multiple early cautions. ... Eight drivers completed 30 laps. ... Michael Smith scratched from the feature.
On the move: Damian Bidwell of Eldred, Pa., started 11th and finished fifth.
Winner's sponsors: Scott’s Suppa Racing Lazer Chassis is sponsored by Close Racing Supply, Rod Johnson Construction, Ray's Carpet-ette, CarQuest Car-Go Auto Parts and Genesis Shocks.
