What won the race: Taking the lead from Tyler Erb on lap 34, Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, Ga., paced the final seven circuits to win Friday’s World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series feature at Mississippi Thunder Speedway. Davenport earned $10,000 for winning the second night of the WoO’s three-race Dairyland Showdown. Bobby Pierce got by Erb late and finished 2.151 seconds behind the winner.

Quotable: “This place is cool for sure. You can move around a lot. I was fortunate enough to kinda start midpack there and then I could move around see where I needed to be. I got to the top pretty early through (turns) three and four and passed a couple of guys," Davenport said. "Then (the groove) got moving around again and I found the middle through (turns) one and two and then the bottom in three and four I was going somewhere different where they wasn’t going.”

Key notes: Davenport earned his 12th career World of Outlaws win, tying him with Senoia, Ga.’s Clint Smith on the tour’s all-time list. … Fourth-starting Tyler Erb of New Waverly, Texas, who did not compete in Thursday’s opener, raced the last dozen laps or so with a dangling right rear quarterpanel after a couple scrapes with the wall. He also had a deflating right rear tire, which was flat by the time he crossed the scales. … Twenty-three of the 26 starters finished, with 19 completing all 40 laps of the caution-free race. … Making his first-ever visit to MTS, polesitter Spencer Hughes of Meridian, Miss., led the first lap. … Cade Dillard of Robeline, La., led laps 2-11. … Tyler Erb took the lead from Dillard on lap 12 and led through lap 33. … Dennis Erb Jr. of Carpentersville, Ill., the WoO points leader, picked up four positions over the final 10 laps to salvage a 14th-place finish after using a provisional to start 23rd. He finished three spots ahead of Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., his closest pursuer in the points battle. … Brandon Sheppard of New Berlin, Ill., finished 20th in Boom Briggs’ back-up car. The four-time series champion finished third in his consolation race to grab a transfer spot. ... Saturday's finale is a 75-lap, $50,000-to-win affair. ... Bobby Pierce of Oakwood, Ill., won Thursday's opener.
