Overtaking Jensen Ford for the lead on lap 34, Dale McDowell of Chickamauga, Ga., paced the remaining distance on Sunday night at Volunteer Speedway to earn his second straight victory on the Schaeffer's Southern Nationals Series. McDowell crossed the finish line 2.318 seconds ahead of Ford in the 53-lap feature to earn his ninth career series win and a $10,053 check.
