McKay Wenger (42) and Ryan Unzicker (24) swapped the lead.
What won the race: In a stirring back-and-forth battle between polesitter McKay Wenger and third-starting Ryan Unzicker, Wenger narrowly held off Unzicker's late bid for victory and led the final 17 laps for a $5,012 victory, wining the Richard Craven Memorial for the second straight season. Wenger took the checkers 0.110 seconds ahead of Unzicker at the quarter-mile oval.
Quotable: "It was awesome. The track was great. It was really fun racing with Ryan there," Wenger said. "He's one of the best there when it's around the hub like that, so I knew I was going to have to be good enough to hold him off. I knew once if he got down in front of me it was going to be a lot harder."
Key notes: Wenger also won the previous week in a Longhorn Chassis he's driven when his Curless Motorsports ride isn't in action. ... Wenger, who celebrated with a reverse victory lap, led laps 1-4, 6-7 and 13-20 and 24-40. ... Along with leading laps 8-12 and 21-24, Ryan Unzicker also led the fifth lap. ... The first of five cautions appeared on the seventh lap for Adam Tischhauser (he was pushed to the pits). ... The second yellow appeared on the 25th lap when Jake Little headed to the infield to replace a flat tire. ... A lap-26 yellow appeared for Alex Wilson's spin. ... Jayme Zidar spun on lap 29 just as Titus Sneed slowed. ... Chase Osterhoff slowed with a flat on lap 32. ... The race lasted 23 minutes, with 13 starters completing 40 laps. ... Sean Mattingly scratched after finishing third in his heat and was replaced in the lineup.
On the move: Billy Hough of Thomasboro, Ill., started 19th and finished ninth.
