Gregg Sattlerlee heads for a $5,000 victory at Hagerstown, Md.
What won the race: Securing his second feature victory in as many nights, Gregg Satterlee of Indiana, Pa., led all 35 laps en route to a dominant flag-to-flag victory in Saturday's Frank Sagi Tribute at Hagerstown Speedway. Satterlee sped to the $5,000 victory 5.657 seconds ahead of Matt Cosner, who regained the runner-up spot right after a lap-14 restart.
Key notes: By virtue of winning, Satterlee is eligible for a $2,500 bonus if he were to also win Sunday's Jimmy Spence Memorial at Winchester (Va.) Speedway, in addition to the $6,091 top prize. ... Satterlee recorded his sixth victory of the season and his second of the weekend after winning Friday's Appalachian Speedweek finale at Selinsgrove (Pa.) Speedway, worth $6,000. ... Matt Cosner and Trever Feathers traded second on a lap-14 restart, with Cosner prevailing and trailing Satterlee the final 20 laps. Feathers settled for third. ... Ninth-starting Rick Eckert finished fourth. ... Polesitter Matt Glanden slipped to 12th, the final starter to complete 35 laps. ... Tyler Bare retired just before Dale Hollidge appeared to draw the lap-14 caution. ... The event honored Frank Joseph Sagi of Hagerstown, Md., who served as the track announcer for 39 years; Sagi acted as the voice at many tracks along the east coast and began following his son, Alan’s racing career after retiring from announcing. He died on April 24, 2012, at the age of 78. ... Booper Bare, Barry Klinedinst and Dave Wilt were also honored. ... The race lasted 31 minutes, with 17 starters running at the checkers.
