Cory Hedgecock adds another special event victory at I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, Tenn.
What won the race: Overcoming an opening lap spin, Cory Hedgecock of Loudon, Tenn., slid by Chris Madden for the lead on lap seven and paced the rest of Tuesday's 40-lap Schaeffer's Southern Nationals feature at I-75 Raceway. Hedgecock, who was allowed to retain his fourth starting spot after spinning, beat Madden by 1.129 seconds for his sixth career series victory.
Quotable: "Glad nothing got tore up," Hedgecock said of his opening-lap spin. "They were just racing and everything and (I) just kinda got in the middle of it. Thankfully I didn’t get much stuff tore up and was able to get my spot back. (Chris) Madden has been killing everybody on this deal, so happy I could outrun him, even though it’s at my home place. We’ll still take it either way.”
