Chris Madden takes the checkers for a $5,000 victory at Dixie.
What won the race: Polesitter Chris Madden of Gray Court, S.C., outran third-starting Shane Clanton of Zebulon, Ga., leading the entire 50-lap distance for a $5,000 Southeastern Classic victory at Dixie Speedway. Madden won his third straight start at the 3/8-mile oval going back to 2013.
Key notes: Madden extended his personal winning streak to three in a row; he swept March 5-6's Southern All Star action at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, S.C. ... Madden also has three consecutive victories at Dixie, including Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series triumphs in 2013-'14. ... Madden started the weekend at Smoky Mountain Speedway, but headed to Dixie after he was disqualified in Friday's prelims in Maryville, Tenn. ... Following the Dixie's 47th season opener, the track's next event is the April 9 Spring Championships that precedes regular season action starting the first Saturday in May.
