What won the race: Seventh-starting Charlie Sandercock of Belleville, Ontario, overtook leader Chris Fleming of Auburn, N.Y., on the 45th of 50 laps to capture a $1,000 Go Nuclear Late Model Challenge Series victory at Fulton Speedway. Sandercock notched his series-leading fifth triumph and third in a row in the Pit Stop Convenience Stores 50.
Quotable: "Off of every corner I was lining up my right-front nose to the back of (Fleming's) car to make sure I wasn’t going to make contact or take him out,” said Sandercock, who started seventh. “I knew when I went into the bottom of (turns) one and two (on lap 45) I had to take that opportunity because the laps were winding down."
Key notes: Sandercock won on the tour for the third straight weekend, with previous victories coming Sept. 17 at Mohawk International Raceway and Sept. 24 at Brighton Speedway in the tour's $6,000 Great Crate Race. ... It was Sandercock's first-ever win at Fulton, a track he's been visiting for special events since 2007. ... Runner-up Waters finished three seconds behind the victor. ... Third-place Mike Maresca recorded his first-ever Go Nuclear podium finish. ... Go Nuclear's penultimate event served as the tour's final stop on American soil. ... The race was presented by Gillee’s NAPA Auto Parts and is apart of Fulton's Outlaw 200 weekend.
On the move: John Waters of Whitesville, N.Y., earned hard-charger status by advancing from the 15th starting spot to finish fourth.
