Kasey Hall won Friday's UCRA victory at Fort Payne.
What won the race: Notching his second career United Crate Racing Alliance victory, Kasey Hall of Geraldine, Ala., rolled off from the pole position and led all 40 laps for a $2,500 payday at Fort Payne Motor Speedway. Hall's margin of victory was 2.943 seconds over runner-up Jason Manley of Loudon, Tenn.
Key notes: Five drivers completed all 40 laps and seven were running at the finish. ... A 45-minute afternoon rainstorm threatened the program, but officials forged ahead. ... The feature was slowed by a pair of lap-27 cautions. ... Defending series champion Rusty Ballenger of Seymour, Tenn., completed just three laps. ... Friday's nine entrants marked the fewest for any event in UCRA's three-year history; the previous low car count of 14 came July 3, 2016, at Wartburg (Tenn.) Speedway. ... In other divisions on the card, Robert Gant won the Super Late Model feature and David Hardwood won the Sportsman feature. ... Fort Payne hosted the second UCRA event of the season and the first of a weekend doubleheader; competitors move just up the interstate to Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, Ga., on Saturday.
On the move: Jason Manley of Loudon, Tenn., improved five positions to score a runner-up finish.
Points chase: Cory Hedgecock of Loudon, Tenn., led the UCRA standings entering the event; he was not among Friday's entrants.
