Steve Laursen (19) battles Jeff Wildung (50) at I-94 Speedway.
What won the race: Starting on the front row, Steve Laursen of Cumberland, Wisc., won the 35-lap WISSOTA Shaw Trucking Challenge Series feature at I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls, Minn., beating polesitter Jeff Wildung of Nassau, Minn. to the checkers. Laursen earned $3,000 for the victory.
Key notes: The WISSOTA tour opened a 17-race campaign by making its second-ever visit to Fergus Falls. ... The win was Laursen's 11th career WISSOTA Shaw Truck Challenge Series victory. ... Heat race winner Don Shaw was among four drivers who failed to finish, including A.J. Diemel, Brady Johanneck and Chad Mahder. ... Diemel was caught up in a wreck as he spun trying to avoid other cars. The extensive damage will likely keep him out of Saturday's series action as well. ... Among drivers failing to make the feature: Casey Meyer, Robert Bladow, Scott Lehn, Zach Wohlers, Ryan Engels, Rick Nelson, Jerry Hauge, Ryan Mikkelson and Ernest Geist. ... The series returns to I-94 on July 27.
On the move: After winning his consolation race, Kent Arment of Aberdeen, S.D., rallied from 20th to finish 10th.
Winner's sponsors: Laursen's MB Customs machine is sponsored by A1 Homes, Lakes Gas, Western Wisconsin Auto Auction, J.T. Auto Sales and J.J.S Auto Body.
Points chase: Jake Redetzke of Eau Claire, Wis., is the reigning series champion.
