What won the race: Clay Julian of Ozark, Ark., held off a hard-charging Kanyan Methvin of Yellville, Ark., to win at Batesville Motor Speedway for his first career Southern Outlaw Late Model Series victory. He collected $750 for the win.
Key notes: Julian denied Methvin his fourth series victory. ... Julian took the lead early before Hank Long, who started on the front row, passed Julian on lap five. ... Long suffered a flat tire on lap seven, keeping him from winning his fourth series event of the season. … Second running Travis Ashley had motor problems and slowed on lap 17. … Julian held off Methvin over the final three laps for his first series win. ... The series returns to Batesville on Sept. 8.
