Billy Moyer Jr. picked up the checkered flag at Whynot.
What won the race: Scoring his second regional touring victory of the weekend, Billy Moyer Jr. of Batesville, Ark., won from the pole Saturday at Whynot Motorsports Park on the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series. Moyer, a Friday winner in Comp Cams series action at his hometown track, edged Brian Rickman by two-tenths of a second for $2,500 and his third career MSCCS triumph.
Key notes: Moyer became the fourth different winner in the last four series events at Whynot, a track promoted by former racer Rodney Wing. ... Three of Moyer's nine 2017 victories have come in MSCCS action. ... Fourteen of 22 starters completed 50 laps. ... Rick Rickman of Columbus, Miss., the night's fast qualifier, was an early retiree in the feature; he parked on lap 27. ... Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, Miss., who won his first MSCCS event at his hometown track the previous weekend, retired after 30 laps.
On the move: Garrett Alberson of Las Cruces, N.M., started 10th and finished third.
