What won the race: Continuing his August hot streak in the full-fendered division, sprint car superstar Donny Schatz of Fargo, N.D., overtook series points leader Ricky Weiss on the fifth lap and led the rest of Wednesday's caution-free 25-lap NLRA feature at Red River Valley Speedway. Schatz won for the third time in the last four series events as he finished five seconds ahead of Weiss, his fellow front-row starter.

Quotable: “(Weiss) is really good and I thought it would take getting into lapped traffic to get by him,” Schatz said. “We were able to get him in open track. It’s always a good thing when you are able to make a guy move his line when he sees you, which allows you to move yours and do what you need to do.”

Key notes: Donny Schatz won last week on the series at Red River Co-op Speedway in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D. .... He has five career NLRA victories. ...
