What won the race: Casey Roberts of Toccoa, Ga., started outside the front row and led all 25 laps Friday night in the first of three Alabama State Championship weekend events at East Alabama Motor Speedway. Roberts earned $2,500 in the Super Late Model feature, taking the checkers 1.204 seconds ahead of ninth-row starter Riley Hickman of Ooltewah, Tenn.
Key notes: Cautions included a lap-24 rollover by Jason Hiett after a tangle with Steven Roberts; no injuries were reported. ... Terrance Nowell spun exiting turn two on lap five, collecting Ashton Winger. ... Friday kicked off three straight days of action at EAMS as part of the Alabama State Championships. ... Saturday’s feature is also 25 laps and $2,500-to-win, while Sunday’s finale for Super Late Models is 45 laps for $4,500-to-win. … Super Late Models run a complete show each day. Starting positions for Sunday's feature will be determined by averaging the finishes from Friday and Saturday. … Limited Late Models and Crate Late Models each contest 50 laps for a $5,000 top prize. Both classes will qualify with the top 18 locked into Sunday's race.
