What won the race: Leading all 30 laps, polesitter Jackie Boggs of Grayson, Ky., outran Zack Dohm of Cross Lanes, W.Va., for a $3,000 Schaeffer Oil Iron-Man Series victory in 201 Speedway's Paul H. Salyer Memorial.
Quotable: "This is our fifth new race car this year and we finally got one we can use. It's been tough on me, really tough," Boggs said, thanking chassis builder Audie Swartz for providing a new car. "We haven't changed one thing but the frame on this race car ... it was getting to the point we had to have something like this so we could have something to look forward to. You don't even want to go racing ... you can't take a mule to the Kentucky Derby, is the bottom damn line."
Key notes: Boggs scored his second career Iron-Man victory at 201. … The 30-lap feature ran caution-free with three Swartz drivers finishing in the top three spots. … The event marked the fourth-ever event for the series at 201. … Zack Dohm and Chris Combs frequently swapped the second spot. ... Boggs assisted Dohm after hot laps to diagnose and repair the bearing in his throttle pedal. ... The race honored the long-time racer from Magoffin County, Ky., who also served three terms as its County Judge-Executive. … There have been 14 winners in 14 series races in '17.
On the move: Eric Wells of Hazard, Ky., started 10th and finished fourth.
