Jonathan Davenport scored a $4,000 Crate victory at Charlotte.
What won the race: Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, Ga., took over the top spot on lap 19 when race-long leader Matt Long of Concord, N.C., surrendered the lead by pulling into the infield and went on to capture Saturday's 30-lap OneDirt World Short Track Championship Crate Late Model feature at The Dirt Track at Charlotte. Davenport had to survive a three-lap dash to the finish after a caution on lap 27 for Trent Ivey and Jeff Matthews to preserve the $4,000 triumph
Key notes: Davenport made an unexpected Crate Late Model start in a Revolution Racing machine. He registered his second Crate Late Model feature win of 2017. ... The polesitting Long suffered some issues, causing him to relinquish the lead and head to the pits. ... Floridian Kyle Bronson and Pennsylvanian Max Blair finished second and third, respectively. ... The Dirt Track at Charlotte will host the World of Outlaws World Finals next weekend.
On the move: Austin Mintz started 22nd and finished ninth.
Winner's sponsors: Davenport's Revolution Racing Longhorn Race Car is sponsored by Bozard Ford, Quick Lane Tire & Auto, Penske Racing Shocks, Red Line, Sunoco Fuels, RSA Aluminum, Ponte Verdra Golf Carts and Swift Springs.
