Nevin Gainey on his way to a flag-to-flag victory at All-Tech Raceway.
What won the race: Nevin Gainey of Fort White, Fla., authored a perfect night Saturday at All-Tech Raceway, winning his heat race and leading the feature from flag-to-flag to remain undefeated in 2018 action on the Florida Late Model Challenge Series. He outran Trever Taylor of Ocoee, Fla., to the finish line for a $1,000 payday.
Key notes: After making a three-wide move to vault from fourth to the lead en route to capturing his heat race, Gainey bolted off the pole position to dominate the feature for his second win in as many Florida Late Model Challenge Series events this season. He also won the March 17 opener at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla. ... The third-starting Taylor ran second throughout the distance but didn't have enough speed to deal with Gainey. ... The series returns to All-Tech on June 30 and Sept. 22.
Winner's sponsors: Gainey’s Kryptonite Chassis is sponsored by Ledlow & Associates, B4 Signs & Advertising, Gainey EGR Cooler, Daniel Martin Racing Shocks and Devane Carburetors.
Points chase: Gainey padded his points lead through two events.
