What won the race: Polesitter Jack Sullivan of Greenbrier, Ark., fought back to overtake Kyle Beard on the final circuit for a dramatic victory in Friday night's 35-lap Comp Cams Super Dirt Series feature at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway. Sullivan nipped Beard at the finish line by a mere 0.081 of a second to earn $3,000 for his tour-leading third triumph of the season.
Key notes: The third-starting Beard passed Sullivan for the lead on lap six and stayed in front until the last circuit, when Sullivan drew alongside and won a drag race off turn four to beat Beard by a scant margin. ... Sullivan scored his series-leading 27th career victory in a race that was run as a tribute to veteran chassis builder Larry Shaw, who joined Sullivan in victory lane for post-race photos. ... Hall of Famer Billy Moyer, who started fourth, claimed the final podium position in the finish. ... Hunter Rasdon was an early retiree after losing a battle with the oval's tractor tires. ...
