What won the race: Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., won a spirited side-by-side duel with Jeremy Wonderling on Sunday at Eriez Speedway for his second Sweeney Chevrolet RUSH Series victory of the season. Blair, who regained the lead for good on lap 21, earned $2,000 in the Crate Late Model special.
Quotable: "That was a lot of fun racing with Jeremy — that's how you should be able to race with someone," winner Max Blair said. "We gave each other a lot of room. We caught that lapped car and I knew that was my best shot to get back by him. He was real good so I'm not sure if we would have gotten back by him otherwise."
Key notes: Blair has 20 career series victories. ... Runner-up Jeremy Wonderling led laps 10-20 while winner Max Blair led the rest of the 30-lapper. ... Wonderling held the top groove while Blair ran down low with the key moment coming on lap 21 amid traffic as Blair regained the lead. ... Nearby bad weather contributed to the 21-car count well below the 33-car average for the series ... Blair lowered the track record in qualifying. ... He also won the night's Super Late Model feature.
On the move: Chad Sines started 20th and finished 16th to pick up Precise Racing Products-sponsored hard charger honors.
Winner's sponsors: Blair’s Rocket Chassis is sponsored by Specialty Products, Murphy’s Logging, C&J Dairy, Previty’s Auto Wrecking, Upstate Auto Group, Sons of the American Legion Post 1460, Moody & Son Welding, Niemeyer’s Garage and Integra Racing Shocks.
