What won the race: Continuing a hot Autumn, Billy Moyer Jr. of Batesville, Ark., drove to victory in Saturday’s 25th annual Spooky 50 at Chatham Speedway. Moyer Jr. held off B.J. Robinson during a host of restarts for a $9,000 payday.
Quotable: “You think early on you want to enter (the corner) wide and try to exit, but like when B.J. (Robinson) about passed me on that restart, that told me, man gotta lock your elbows in and enter the bottom, but it’s kinda choppy because of the rain they had and everything," winner Billy Moyer Jr. said. "But you can’t ask for much better as long as you can race on it.”
Key notes: Billy Moyer Jr.’s win backed up his career-high $14,500 victory at Duck River Raceway Park last weekend and a $10,000 MARS victory in August. … He picked up his first-ever win with the Louisiana Late Model Series to go along with victories on the World of Outlaws and Comp Cams tours and a co-sanctioned MARS Racing Series/Iron-Man Series win this season. … Chatham Speedway hosted the first-year Louisiana tour for the seventh time this season following Friday’s weekend-opening, $2,000-to-win Scary 30, which was won by Cade Dillard of Robeline, La. … Dillard, who has five series wins, finished eighth Saturday.
