Jensen Ford earned $2,500 for Saturday's American Crate All-Stars win.
What won the race: Leading all 40 laps in his Tazewell debut, Jensen Ford of Piney Flats, Tenn., won Saturday's first-ever event for the east Tennessee-based American Crate All-Stars, topping Aaron Guinn and Ross White for a $2,500 victory at Tazewell Speedway.
Quotable: “Man, this just feels incredible. To win in my first-ever trip to Tazewell Speedway and to win the first-ever American Crate All-Star Series race is really something for our team,” Ford said. “This car was on a rail the whole night. I hated to see those late-race cautions, but it didn’t slow us down any. We had a good car in Florida a few weeks ago but just didn’t have any luck on our side. Tonight, we put it all together and got the win.”
Key notes: Tazewell Speedway kicked off its season with the 10th annual Charles Trammell Memorial. ... The race was slowed by two cautions. Jonathan Miracle slowed with a flat on lap 33 and Andy Ogle spun a lap later. … The event honored the speedway’s Hall of Fame inductee and patriarch of the Trammell racing family who passed away in 2009. … Trammell’s grandson Jason Trammell started 13th and finished seventh. … The race marked the debut of the American Crate All-Star Series, which has a 16-race schedule planned in its inaugural season. … Aaron Guinn paired his runner-up finish with an $800 victory in the night’s sportsman feature.
On the move: Ross White of Knoxville, Tenn., started eighth and finished third.
Winner's sponsors: Ford's TNT Race Car is equipped with a Crate engine tuned by Eagle Race Engines and carries sponsorship from Whitehead Construction, Green Tree Motors & Storage and McCoy Land Surveying.
