Ricky Weiss picks up his first check on the Blaine Brothers Challenge Series for WISSOTA Late Models.
What won the race: Outdueling Friday winner and fellow front-row starter Zach Johnson, outside front-row starter Ricky Weiss of Winnipeg, Manitoba, led all 40 laps Saturday at Dacotah Speedway's Governor's Cup finale for his first career victory on the Blaine Brothers Challenge Series. Johnson, of Kensington, Minn., earned the overall Governor's Cup title by virtue of his 1-2 weekend finishes.
Key notes: Two cautions just past the midpoint slowed the racing. ... Jake Redetzke of Eau Claire, Wis., was third early, slipped out of the top five, then got back to third by halfway. ... Pat Doar of New Richmond, Wis., ran as high as fourth but ended up eighth. ... Blaine Brothers Challenge Series competitors are nearing the midpoint of a seven-race Western swing in WISSOTA touring action.
On the move: Eric Mass of Rapid City, S.D., charged from 14th to finish fifth.
