What won the race: Coming out on top of a wild conclusion in Saturday's 40-lapper, third-starting Jacob Hawkins of Fairmont, W.Va., scored his first-ever Zimmer's United Late Model Series victory at Tyler County Speedway. He survived a scrape with two laps to go that flattened race-long pacesetter Max Blair's tire and multiple ensuing restarts to beat Jared Miley and Colten Burdette by less than a second.

Quotable: "I tried to get by (Blair) down here in (turns) one and two, and didn't quite clear him, then down here in three and four I thought for sure I cleared him," Hawkins said. "But he muscled back around the outside of me and we got together a little bit there. I hated that it cut his tire down, I'd rather race him to the checkers. But for the luck we've had this year, I'll take it any way we can get it right now."

Key notes: As Hawkins and Miley battled with Blair through lapped traffic in the final laps, Hawkins and Blair made contact on lap 38. Miley snuck by to apparently grab the lead, but Hawkins was installed as the leader for the restart because officials reverted to the last lap completed for the order. ... Hawkins proceeded to hold off Miley and Burdette to register his first win of 2019 driving for fellow West Virginian Eric Hudkins and match the richest Super Late Model victory of his career; he's now won three $5,000 events. ... Blair settled for a ninth after his misfortune. ... The winner's older brother, Jared Hawkins, finished fifth. ... Dirt Late Model veteran Eddie Carrier Jr. of Salt Rock, W.Va., earned $15,000 for winning the night's open-wheel modified Mega 100 driving the Junior Nolan No. 13, the same car Jacob Hawkins piloted to victory twice before in the century grind.

On the move: Jared Miley of Pittsburgh, Pa., started eighth and finished second.
