Robby Moses picked up his first career Iron-Man tour victory.
What won the race: Robby Moses of Maryville, Tenn., outran Michael Chilton and Kenny Collins in Friday’s Iron-Man Championship sanctioned event at Wartburg Speedway to claim his first career series victory. Winning by 2.7 seconds, Moses earned $3,000 in the Donald "Ducky" Jones Memorial.
Quotable: "I was kind of riding, I couldn't tell where anybody was at, and then I had to get up on the wheel (against Kenny Collins)," said Moses, who led all but five laps. "And I started changing my line up a little bit and was able to get off the corner a little bit better."
Key notes: Moses mixed it up early with Kenny Collins and Dustin Linville with Linville briefly slide-jobbing past Moses in turn two. ... Linville, a former touring winner at Wartburg, drew a lap-seven caution when he hit the wall exiting turn two and was the first retiree. ... Racing on his birthday, Collins led laps 12-16 but ended up third behind eighth-row starter Michael Chilton. ... A dozen drivers completed 40 laps. ... The series made its Wartburg debut.
On the move: Runner-up Michael Chilton of Salvisa, Ky., started 16th.
Winner's sponsors: Moses drives a Longhorn Chassis is sponsored by Double Down Motorsports, Lazydays RV, 2150 Enterprises and Smoky Mountain Speedway.
