What won the race: Brent Trimble of Morgantown, W.Va., took the lead on lap 19 and led the final 31 laps, cruising to win the 10th annual UBB 29 Miners Memorial at I-77 Speedway on Saturday night, earning $3,000 in the Fastrak Racing Series event.
Key notes: The Fastrak Racing Series returned to I-77 Speedway in Ripley, W.Va., for the 10th annual UBB 29 Miner’s Memorial, a race which honors the 29 miners who passed away in the Upper Big Branch Mine disaster in Raleigh County, W.Va., on April 5, 2010. ... Trimble worked his way by early race leader Dillon Brown of Gaffney, S.C., and cruised to win by 1.671 seconds over pole sitter David Pangrazio of Batavia, N.Y. ... Brown faded in the second half of the race, finishing fifth. ... The race was slowed by two caution flags and lasted just under 30 minutes. ...
