What won the race: Winning his fourth Blue Ridge race at his home track over three seasons by virtue of disqualification, David Payne of Murphy, N.C., picked up an $1,800 victory Saturday at Tri-County Racetrack. Danny Ledford was the 30-lapper's apparent winner but failed postrace tech inspection.
Key notes: Danny Ledford's car failed the "droop rule" that limits deck height. ... Payne and fast qualifier Jamie Oliver battled hard for second until Oliver's throttle hung, sending his car hard into the turn-three wall. ... A power outage at the facility shifted Friday night's program to Saturday. … Payne became the 13th winner in 17 Blue Ridge Outlaws races this season. ... Daniel Wilson scratched from the feature.
