What won the race: Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., engaged in an early back-and-forth duel with Dave Hess Jr. before taking over for good on the 17th lap en route to capturing Sunday's 50-lap Andy Kania Memorial for a $7,676 Super Late Model victory at Eriez Speedway.
Key notes: Blair, who is competing on the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series this season, notched his fourth overall victory of 2022 in one of his rare starts on his longtime home turf. ... It was Blair's first win at Eriez since last July 18. ... Fifteen drivers completed 50 laps. ... Finishing sixth in the race honoring his late father, a former driver and longtime track supporter, Steve Kania was touched by the huge crowd. "I'm speechless," he said during the pill draw. "That's all I have to say." ... Kania's car and a wrecker from his father's business paced the field before the main event. ... WoO regular Boom Briggs was among drivers failing to make the feature lineup after an oil leak forced him to scratch following time trials. ... The race also paid $3,900 in lap money. ... Fast qualifier Michael Norris, making his second guest appearance or the weekend in the Florida-based Big Frog Motorsports ride, picked up an extra $276. He finished 19th in the feature.
On the move: Jared Miley of Pittsburgh, Pa., started eighth and finished third.
