Key notes: Two of Mitchell's three career Carolina Clash wins have come at Fayetteville — but separated by nearly 12 years. He recorded his first-ever Clash triumph at the track on Oct. 9, 2010. ... Fifth-starting Willie Milliken was in the process of overtaking Mitchell for the lead when a caution flag flew; he wasn't able to duplicate the move and settled for the runner-up position, 0.769 of a second behind Mitchell. ... Christian Thomas completed the podium after moving into third on lap 32. ... Dennis "Rambo" Franklin ran as high as second in the early laps before fading to finish fourth. ...
