Chad Becker heads for a $3,000 victory at Fiesta City.
What won the race: After finishing in second position on Friday, sixth-starting Chad Becker of Aberdeen, S.D., improved one position Saturday, topping the WISSOTA Late Model field for $3,000 at Fiesta City Speedway. Becker utilized a lap-23 restart to take the lead and paced the final eight circuits to secure the victory over Friday’s winner Jordan Tollakson.
Key notes: After winning Friday's $2,000 weekend opener over Becker, Jordan Tollakson settled for the runner-up position at his home track, 1.371 seconds back. ... Becker and Tollakson finished in the reverse order on Saturday, with Tollakson leading laps 19 through 22, before Becker led laps 23 through 30. ... Corey Nelson of Canby, Minn., finished third. ... After leading the first 18 laps from the outside front row, Cory Tammen of Wolverton, Minn., faded in the closing laps and finished eighth. ... Second place in Fiesta City Late Model points, polesitter Damin Eilers of Canby, Minn., completed 28 laps and finished 14th. ... Saturday's feature, the second night of a two-day race weekend, was slowed by three cautions and lasted 27 minutes, with 10 competitors completing 30 laps.
