Chad Becker celebrates his second Tri-State Series victory in as many nights.
What won the race: Inheriting the lead when race-long leader Cole Searing spun midway through, sixth-starting Chad Becker paced the final 16 laps to win Friday's $2,000 Repairable Vehicles.com Tri-State Series feature at Brown County Speedway. Becker earned his third career Tri-State victory and his second in as many nights after topping Thursday's $3,000 weekend opener at Dakota State Fair Speedway.
Quotable: “Oh I tell you what, it was a blast, that’s one of the funnest races here so far for me,” Becker said. “I mean you could run top, bottom, through the middle. Running behind Cole (Searing) was fun there, ya know, I just knew that it was getting a little hairy over there, so you had to kinda mind your Ps and Qs, but it was awesome. It was fun; car would go anywhere. I loved it.”
Key notes: Becker also collected his second straight win at his home track after topping 2019's $1,000 inaugural series visit to Brown County. ... Searing spun out of the lead on lap 14, drawing the race's final caution. ... Fifth-starting Shane DeMey moved into the runner-up position on lap 26 and finished a distant 3.282 seconds back. ... Eighth-starting Kent Arment passed Blair Nothdurft for third on the final lap. ... Searing of Huron, S.D., was forced to tag the field after his unforced spin and recovered to finish sixth. ... Gale Vogt advanced three positions and finished seventh. ... David Carlson gained nine spots and finished ninth. ... Polesitter Thomas Weisgram failed to lead a lap and pulled off on lap 20, finishing 17th. ... Reigning series champ Trevor Anderson failed to complete a lap and finished 24th. ... Friday's feature was slowed by three cautions and lasted 22 minutes, with 13 drivers completing all 30 laps.
On the move: Pat Weisgram started 22nd and finished 10th at his home track.
