Mike Bellefeuille picked up his richest career victory.
What won the race: Mike Bellefeuille of Duluth, Minn., rocketed from the outside front row and led all 30 laps at Halvor Lines Speedway to win Sunday's $5,000 WISSOTA Late Model feature. Securing the richest payday of his career, Bellefeuille notched his first Late Model victory of the season and his first at Halvor Lines since June 19, 2022.
Quotable: “I’ll definitely take it, we’ve had a hell of a year,” Bellefeuille said. “(I) just can’t get this thing going and tonight, I think we finally found something, so it worked. Starting spot was key here, but that was kinda fun.”
Key notes: Reigning track champion Danny Vang trailed Bellefeuille for the entire distance, finishing 1.461 seconds back. ... Fourth-starting Jeff Provinzino stalked Vang for second all 30 laps, settling for third. ... Darrell Nelson marched through the field and utilized a lap-17 restart to move into fourth. ... Seeking the weekend sweep after winning Friday's $5,000 opener at Gondik Law Speedway and Saturday's $5,000 second round at Hibbing Raceway, Kyle Peterlin started and finished fifth. ... Jayme Lautigar advanced three positions and finished ninth. ... Trevor Wilson drew the race's final caution when he stopped in turn four on lap 16. ... Sunday's 13-minute feature was slowed by two cautions and saw 14 drivers complete 30 laps, with all 17 running at the finish. … Halvor Lines hosts the 51st annual Silver 1000 on Aug. 31.
