What won the race: Regaining the lead with a last-lap pass, eighth-starting Jeff Aikey of Cedar Falls, Iowa, traded the lead with Tad Pospisil three times in the final seven laps, prevailing to win Saturday's $3,000 Hovings & Harken Memorial at Kossuth County Speedway. Aikey led twice for three laps (19-20, 25) to earn his third career Malvern Bank Series victory and scored the fifth of his career on the Hoker Trucking Series tour.
Key notes: Malvern Bank Series points leader Pospisil, of Norfolk, Neb., led twice for 22 laps, including the first 18 from the pole, before Aikey nipped him at the line by 0.078 of a second. ... Justin Zeitner ran as high as second in the early laps before fading to fourth on lap 14 and rebounding to finish third. ... Hoker Trucking Series points leader Chad Holladay advanced eight positions and moved into fourth on the final lap. ... Bill Leighton Jr. gained five spots and finished fifth. ... Second-running Jesse Sobbing drew the race's final caution on lap 15 before he pulled off and called it a night. ... Saturday's 25-lap feature was slowed by two cautions and lasted 12 minutes, with 19 drivers completing the entire distance.
On the move: Matt Ryan of Davenport, Iowa, started 20th and finished 10th.
