What won the race: Overtaking race-long leader Mitch McGrath on a lap-23 restart, third-starting Nick Anvelink of Bonduel, Wis., led the final eight laps to win Saturday's $2,500 sixth annual Jim "Wildman" Watson Classic at Plymouth Dirt Track. Anvelink notched his fourth Wabam Dirt Kings Tour feature victory of the season and the 26th of his career, further extending his all-time series lead.
Key notes: With his victory, Anvelink was crowned Dirt Kings Tour champion for the sixth time in his career (2017, '18, '19, '21 and '22). ... The second-starting McGrath, of Waukesha, Wis., led the first 22 laps before being overtaken by Anvelink and settling for second, 0.747 of a second back. ... Fourth-starting Jordan Yaggy battled Anvelink for second in the early laps before rounding-out the podium. ... Sixteenth-starting Brett Swedberg used a lap-29 pass to complete the top five. ...
