What won the race: Overtaking early pacesetter Rusty Kollman with an inside move on lap six at turn-two exit, third-starting Tyler Peterson of Hickson, N.D., led the final 20 circuits to win Saturday's $4,000 52nd annual Stock Car Stampede at Jamestown Speedway. Competing in his first race at Jamestown in six years, Peterson earned his first career victory in the WISSOTA Late Model portion of the Stampede after topping 2015's event in his modified.

Quotable: “That was something, we haven’t been here in six years, so I show up just expecting the (rubbered) Jamestown of old,” Peterson said. “She had a little character tonight and I wasn’t quite ready for it, but our Rocket Chassis was on-point. When we got the (Late Model), I said ‘guys, we’re still racing the modified full-time, we’re just gonna race the Late Model 5-to-10 times’ and we won our second night out and just been clicking them off ever since. It’s been an incredible year.”

Key notes: Two-time and reigning MLRA champion Mike Greseth moved into second on lap nine and trailed Peterson the final 17 laps, finishing 4.195 seconds back. ... Eighth-starting Ryan Mikkelson took third on lap 11 and rounded-out the podium finishers. ... Kollman, of Carrington, N.D., led the first five laps from the pole before being overtaken by Peterson and fading to finish fourth. ... Mitch Johnson improved three positions and finished seventh. ... Piloting a Donny Schatz-owned Rocket Chassis, Amelia Eisenschenk gained nine spots and finished ninth. ... Saturday's 10-minute feature was completed green-to-checkered, with eight competitors completing 25 laps and 18 running at the finish. ... Lance Schill scratched from Saturday's action after contact with Ryan Engels sent him flipping in Friday's second heat race; Schill was uninjured.

On the move: Defending Stampede winner Cole Schill of Hawley, Minn., started 20th and finished sixth.
