Josh Skorczewski inherited a victory in Huron, S.D.
What won the race: Inheriting the victory when apparent winner Charlie Olsen was found to be light at the scales, pole-starting Josh Skorczewski of Aberdeen, S.D., was credited with winning Thursday's $3,000 Wheel Jam opener, notching his first career Repairable Vehicles.com Tri-State Late Model Series triumph.
Key notes: The teenage Olsen, of Hendricks, Minn., appeared to lead all 25 laps and take the checkers 0.456 of a second ahead of Skorczewski before he was found 30 pounds light in postrace technical inspection. ... Thirteenth-starting Scott Ward assumed the runner-up spot after crossing the line 1.315 seconds behind Skorczewski. ... Chad Becker improved 17 positions and placed sixth. ... Thursday's Wheel Jam opener lasted 51 minutes, including a 30-minute stoppage on lap 14, with 12 drivers completing the distance. ...
